White Sox tie record for AL's longest losing streak
- Chicago's No. 17 prospect Ky Bush made his first MLB start, losing their 21st consecutive game
- This tied the 1988 Orioles for the longest losing streak in AL history
- Only the 1961 Phillies (23) have lost more consecutive games in MLB history

Freeman receives ovation after son's health scare
- Freeman made his return after a 9-day absence due to his son being diagnosed with a rare illness (Guillain-Barré syndrome)
- He was moved to tears by a standing ovation before his first at-bat of the Dodgers' 5-3 win over the Phillies
- After the game, Freeman said:
- “Since I’ve got here…it’s hard to put into words what the Dodger fans have meant to us and our family,”

Giants shortstop ties Barry Bonds
- Tyler Fitzgerald continued his historic stretch with his 1st leadoff HR of his career
- He became the first Giant with 11 home runs in a 17-game stretch since Barry Bonds & the 4th shortstop in MLB history to do so
- After. the game, manager Bob Melvin said:
- “He’s going to be in the Hall of Fame if he continues at this pace,”
