  • Billy Bean, the MLB’s Senior VP of DEI, passed away on Tuesday after an 11-month battle with leukemia

  • Bean was the only living openly gay Major League player (current or former), having come out in 1999

  • Bean joined the Office of the Commissioner in July 2014 as the MLB’s first-ever Ambassador for Inclusion

• White Sox snap historic losing streak

  • After losing 21 straight games, the White Sox were 1 game away from tying the longest losing streak in MLB history

  • Chicago avoided the historic losing streak with a 5-1 win over the A’s

  • They now have an MLB-worst record of 28-88

• Seager makes no-hitter history

  • Corey Seager hit a 2-run home run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, ending Framber Valdez’s no-hit bid

  • On Aug. 25, 2016, Seager hit a single with two outs in the ninth against Giants pitcher Matt Moore, ending his no-hitter

  • With the HR, Seager became the only player in MLB history to break up 2 no-hitters with two outs in the 9th inning
